How To Be A Responsible Netizen?



Netizens are citizens who uses the internet to participate in political society. The term could also describe an internet user who is trying to contribute to the Internet's use and growth. The internet is a powerful communications medium which offers possibilities for social change. It also has its own culture and its own special issues, including who can access it. Netizens therefore have a responsibility to ensure that it is used contractively.

It must encourage free speech and open access. Netizens can use the Internet to offer and receive opinions, provide informations, there by making the Internet an intellectual and a social resources. A Netizen can be any user of the forms of the Internet.

To be a responsible Netizen, you need to take care of your statements, opinions or thoughts as they might hit another person's ego or belief. Having true freedom as a responsible netizen is having freedom while considering the liberty of others. In terms of social media, being a responsible netizen is avoiding fights, posting appropriate photos, and sharing stuffs that can't hurt a person. Being a Responsible Netizen needs to come with self-control.

Here are some tips on how to be A Responsible Netizen:

1. Do not engage in cyber bullying and other internet crimes.

    - It's okay to act cool in social media, but getting involved in serious crimes like cyber bullying of stealing someone's identity is not good.

2. Share expert knowledge
    - Instead of ranting and sharing non-sense posts on your social media or networking sites, why not share something more resourceful and knowledgable? Keep in mind that the internet was created to share useful and knowledgable information, not harmful information.

3. Recognize and respect diversity.

    - When you are interacting with other people online, it also means that you are talking to people with different cultures, behaviors, and perspective in life.
